Spend Your Sunday Afternoon with the Bob Henderson Jazz Band

Looking for the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon? Join us on Sunday, October 5th in the Parkview Room at Central Coast Leagues Club for three hours of toe-tapping, heart-lifting jazz from the Bob Henderson Jazz Band. The music starts at 2:00 PM and runs through until 5:00 PM — and everyone’s welcome.

Led by acclaimed trumpeter Bob Henderson, the band is a powerhouse six-piece outfit that knows how to light up a room. Bob’s career spans decades, from early days playing around the Hunter and Central Coast to performing with the legendary Daly-Wilson Big Band and even guesting alongside former members of the Glenn Miller Orchestra. His rich experience and unmistakable sound make him one of Australia’s leading jazz trumpeters.

Joining him are some of the finest musicians around — including Lawrie Thompson on drums, known for his versatility (he even pulls out the washboard from time to time!). Together, they deliver an irresistible mix of New Orleans classics, swing-era gems, and timeless favourites. Expect to hear echoes of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, and more, alongside the works of great composers like Gershwin, Porter, and Carmichael.

The Parkview Room is the perfect setting — with plenty of space to dance if you feel like hitting the floor, or comfortable seating if you’d rather just sit back and soak up the music.
